Basically the Avengers decided that the mutants, when we had our own island to get away from America's Registration Act and lots of other shit, and our sovereignty didn't matter. They declared Hope, who had a potential of carrying the Phoenix, should be brought in and dealt with, because the Phoenix Force might be coming to Earth. They attacked us.

Depends on what Josh wants, I guess. But I think I'm going to Excelsior. It's the heart of the tech industry, it's a good place for me.

I've had people suggest I'd be useful as an unregistered tech and weapons specialist, but I imagine that'd get cracked down on pretty fast.
