[ Loki will figure out a way to clear the bridge for them and give Chris his most memorable throne to date, perhaps not tomorrow but one day. He deserves to be loved in the chair of his ship from which all his decisions are made, including those to love. She wants him to watch the galaxies turn while she watches him become the centre of hers.
The kiss smears across a moan from Loki as she rides out his orgasm, crying out as his come burns deep inside and sets her nerves on fire, bucking hard to eke out a final ripple of pleasure of her own. She continues to move over him like a receding wave until it's too much for both of them, panting hard with black hairs stuck across her forehead and neck. Loki sinks down over him and nuzzles the curve of Chris's neck where she catches her breath, stretching out so she can keep a knee curled around him as they remain joined.
This is fine, she can live here now. On this couch, with this man inside her, maybe forever. ]
[ He is one hundred percent on board with the plan to stay here forever, sprawled on this couch with their bodies joined and their hearts both thundering away, and not just because at the moment he's not really sure if he has legs.
Letting out a low, rumbling hum, he slides his hands along the long, lean line of her back, settling down comfortably with one arm curled around her waist to keep her close, the other hand drifting back up to trail along the length of her arm until he finds her hand, tangling their fingers together and tugging her closer so he can press an uncoordinated little kiss to her fingertips. ]
Wow.
[ That sums things up pretty well, actually, he doesn't think he needs to continue that thought. ]
[ Snuggling in just to feel him against her, she unfurls her kissed fingertips and brushes along his cheek, resting a thumb there to pass idly back and forth. ]
Wow.
[ Laughter hums in her chest and she gives a wriggle, playfully clenching down on his softening cock. ]
[ Turning his face a little into the brush of her fingers, Chris smiles, grunting in surprise and chuckling when she clenches down on him as she wriggles in his lap. ]
You sure did.
[ Sighing happily, he lets himself rest for a moment, just enjoying her snuggled up so close to him, but then he squeezes her with the arm around her waist. ]
Sweetheart, can you do something about my clothes? [ This uniform is already ruined, with sweat, with come, with everything else they've gotten on it. She might as well vanish it or do whatever it is she does with clothes when she doesn't want to wear them any more. ] I don't want to get up but...
Okay, but ... I'm kind of tapped out. I don't usually use seidr when fucked five ways from Sunday.
[ Reluctantly sitting up, Loki (firstly yawns) raises her hips to separate them and steps off the couch on shaky legs, tossing her hair back. She gives him a smile, come trailing down her reddened thighs where she held onto him for so long, and licks her dry lips as she focuses a wave of her hand over both of them, Chris on the couch and Loki standing next to him.
The green flash comes and goes: Chris is left clean as a whistle in a thick woollen sweater and soft pants, whereas Loki ...
A vulpine whine comes from the floor where a red fox is curled up into a ball with its nose stuffed in its tail, exhausted. ]
[ Chris was in the process of sitting up, his attention caught on the sight Loki presents standing naked beside him, her hair a mess and the love bites he doled out earlier stark against her skin, his come smeared across her thighs in a way that makes him seriously consider another round — his dick might be down for the count, but it's fine, he has two hands and a mouth, he can make do just fine — when she waves her hand over him and that green light he's become so familiar with fills his vision completely.
When it disappears, Chris is left wondering just where the hell she went, a question that gets answered almost immediately when he looks down at the floor. ]
Oh! [ He's seen bits of the fox, the ears, the tail, and he's read the reports of the fox seen around the ship, but somehow it's different actually seeing it up close. ] Hi, sweet thing.
[ Of course, he swings his legs off the couch and bends down, reaching out for the fox and picking it up immediately. It's not that much bigger than a cat, and Chris has had enough experience with pets to know how to cradle a small furry creature in his hands, so he makes short work of transferring the little fox from the floor up into his lap so he can stroke his hand wonderingly over all that soft red fur. ]
[ Loki is loose as a ragdoll when lifted and, defaulting as much as he can in every way to the smallest form available, twists in Chris's arms to get comfortable, a long tail spilling out over his arm. He tucks his snout down on the front of Chris's chest and snorts out a long, tired sigh, the scent in the apartment like rising ozone as the magic and energy is expended from the godling for the time being. ]
[ He's not sure why he's surprised when the fox opens its mouth and Loki's voice comes out, considering he knows that it's Loki in his arms, but it still somehow takes him aback for a second.
Just a second though, because goddamn it's cute to watch that little fox face snuggle into his chest. ]
That's alright, baby. Can you nap and be carried at the same time? I'm going to make some tea.
[ Tired though he is, his tail wags when called baby, even in this form. He feels loved on so many levels, it's a dizzying experience. Loki would carve Chris out of this universe if he could and take him home. ]
Mmhm, all good.
[ Tucked up tight against Chris's front, Loki's hums turn into squeaks and growls before he starts to doze and his tail ceases to wag. ]
[ Ducking his head down, he presses a kiss to the top of Loki's furry head before levering himself up to his feet.
He feels good, full and sated and dressed in the kind of cozy, comfy clothes he usually leaves back on Earth, so the prospect of a cup of tea and maybe some reading sounds great. If his boyfriend — hah! — wants to be a fox for all that, then so be it, Chris doesn't mind. He hasn't had something soft to pet in years, he'll enjoy the whole experience.
It's not too difficult to make tea one-handed, and soon he's carrying a full steaming mug into his bedroom so he can climb into bed and lean up against the headboard, his legs stretched out in front of him and Loki placed carefully in his lap so he's got a hand free to hold his padd.
What he should do is read through the daily reports that have been sent to him.
What he does is pull up a book on mythology he hasn't read since high school and let himself settle in for a comfortable evening, his fingers buried in the ruff of thick fur of the godling curled up in his lap. ]
[ Loki sleeps on and off as the world sways with Chris's gait, finally settling in with a foxy snore once they are set up on the bed. The scent of tea lulls him into a brief dreamless sleep, pulling energy to himself on an unconscious level so that by the time Chris's drink is low and cooling, Loki feels well enough to dip his nose into the mug to have a slurp.
He gives a shake to wake himself up and his ears perk as he leans closer to the book, paws crossed on Chris's lap. ]
[ Chris has been alternating between petting Loki and drinking his tea, the bulk of his attention focused on the padd in his hand instead of his surroundings, so when Loki sticks his snout in his mug, he's startled enough to let out a bark of a laugh as well as a somewhat indignant, ] Excuse you! [ though the sting of that is taken out immediately as Chris pets his hand down Loki's skull again.
He shifts the padd so it can be seen more easily, flicking the screen back to show the cover art for the book. ]
[ He rolls around in place and fur transforms into black hair, smooth skin, so that most of the fox becomes Loki's head and shoulders by the time he's looking up at Chris. He wears a plain long-sleeved tshirt and the same soft pants, barefoot as he draws his knees up to stay curled close. ]
Doing some research, huh. Anything interesting crop up?
[ He lifts his arm to let Loki's human self get comfortable against him, curled up still in his lap, dressed comfortably for sleep or for lounging. Settling his hand in his hair, he continues the petting of before in the same rhythm and pattern, smoothing his fingers through Loki's hair and down his neck before starting back up again. ]
Nothing about the Aesir, nothing about Jotunheim... It's incredible, really. I was sure I could find something.
[ Frowning slightly, he pets Chris's arm in return and peers at the padd upside-down as if he can divine the truth from it. ]
It's not ... unheard of. Gods dying. In lots of realities Asgard has decayed and been forgotten. Perhaps it's for the best if it doesn't exist here, in yours.
[ Chris makes a soft noise in the back of his throat, cradling Loki's head in his palm for a moment like the thought of him dying is painful, which is just so happens to be. Even if this universe's Loki isn't his Loki, that doesn't mean Chris likes the idea of him not existing. ]
There are different breeds of universes, mainly primes, alternates, and mayflies. Mine is a prime universe, as is yours I suspect, but a mayfly is a universe with a very short shelf-life because the creatures within it cannot learn to coexist and so destroy themselves. [ His head tilts against Chris's warmth, Loki's gaze on the wool sleeve he picks at. ] Planets stagnate after their inhabitants die off, people cause incursions that end their reality altogether, or an alternate universe subsumes the mayfly so that it never truly existed.
[ He thinks of when he was a boy with the Young Avengers and they fled to the Asgard where Loki's skeleton was sat on the throne of Hlidskjalf, Thor and Odin's decayed corpses reaching toward it. The feel of Kate gathering Loki into her arms as he sobbed in horror is still clear as day, she had been so kind to him in that moment. ]
Travelling through the Multiverse, I've seen a lot of dead Lokis who made the wrong choices.
[ It's a little difficult for him to bend down to kiss Loki's temple right now without squishing him, so he restrains himself, but he does tenderly stroke his fingertips across his hairline and down to his jaw. ] I'm so sorry.
[ Chris has intimate knowledge of what it feels like to see something horrible and tragic happen to yourself; just because the other Lokis this one has seen aren't himself, aren't his future, doesn't mean it's not traumatic. Chris still sees his own burned and mangled reflection in his dreams nearly every night.
Sighing softly, he resumes finger-combing Loki's hair, his gaze going a little far-away. ]
There's still so much I don't know, so much knowledge in the universe I've never learned. You must have seen so much.
Continuing to pet him gently, Chris listens to Loki speak and tries to imagine what that might be like, knowing he doesn't really have to imagine all that hard. It seems that being a god means a proper rebirth, not what's waiting for Chris a few years down the line. He wants to be jealous, to find it all deeply unfair, but unfortunately, if there's one thing Chris has learned in his life, it's that things are rarely fair. ]
Have you? [ It's still hard to imagine Loki as anything but what he looks like, a young man, sometimes a young woman, sometimes, apparently, a fox. The weight of grief and uncertain decisions doesn't seem to weigh on him as heavily as it does on other people, but that doesn't mean it isn't still there. ] Do you want to talk about it?
There's nothing much to talk about. I always burn, one way or another. Literally twice, which was less than thrilling.
[ He wrinkles his nose, reaching up to palm Chris's chest where he knows his heart is. ]
Every time I ... I don't want to say reincarnate since that's not something the Pagan pantheon does, but when I return each time, I'm different. Remade.
[ He doesn't really want to talk about burning, considering what's in store for his own future.
Loki's hand on his chest brings him back to himself, enough that when he looks down at him again, he's not seeing his own agonizing death but instead seeing the young man he's grown so painfully fond of, the one he's apparently dating now.
Chris has never dated a god before. ]
I like the way you are now. [ He covers Loki's hand on his chest, curling their fingers together. ]
You would, considering the haggard old man I used to be. Trust me, not very sexy at all.
[ He squeezes Chris's fingers, bringing them to his lips to mirror the kiss from before. ]
Asgard suffers from Ragnarok, a cycle of rebirth, that is why it sometimes dies off more often than other realms. The devastation is too great, it cannot begin again. We were told by the Norns that we had to stay locked in our stories, our roles as they were foretold and written in the myths you are searching for, but we decided to reject them and broke the cycle a few years ago.
I'm no longer the God of Evil nowadays, but the god of a lot of other, nicer purviews.
Sweetheart, you're dating a haggard old man, don't throw stones.
[ Chris wonders if Loki has told Spock any of this, if this is going to show up in the after-mission briefings, or if this is just for Chris to know. Are there other gods in this universe that follow the same rules as the Aesir? What does it mean to break a cycle like that? Who are the Norn?
He seems very dismissive of the God of Evil bit, but considering the way he was brought up, it's probably understandable. Evil is misunderstood, by and large. Not to mention frequently mistranslated. ]
